Nelse Design + Build was created in 2006 as a division of Nelse Construction Inc.

 Nelse Design + Build is a custom home builder specializing in the Northwest Modern Home. We are a full service design firm and licensed general contractor. Member of the Master Builders Association and Built Green.

Nelse Construction Inc was founded in 2004 by Dan Kronmal as a general contractor with high quality and customer satisfaction as a mission. After a few years of managing apartment and home remodels Dan enrolled at the University of Washington and received a degree in business in 2003. After graduation he decided that going back to construction with a new custom home focus was right up his alley.

Dan's great grandfather Nelse Mortensen was a Seattle based general contractor and passed the company on to Dan's grandfather Clifford Nelse Mortensen. The name Mortensen was dropped by Dan to avoid confusion with the Minnesota based Mortenson Construction which is a large commercial construction company that also works in the Seattle area.
